Wild Rose Path

What if you’re not actually stuck?

Hey Reader,

It’s the summer holidays here, and time to do ANYTHING alone is minimal. Three children with very specific needs, plus my own neurodivergent brain means that whole ‘schedule the hell outta every day’ does not fly. It is rare to get all three of them to agree to go somewhere, and quite frankly I’m not up for wasting an insane amount of money on the off-chance that we can have a ‘typical day out’.

Besides, hanging out by the riverside is much better than some overcrowded Soft Play Hell.

Admittedly though, August is the month I always feel really stuck. Productivity-wise, most of what I usually do in the course of one day takes about a week. Windows of time to write or record videos are limited. I’ve started conversations that are taking many days to finish (good old voicenotes…!)

It’s a daily reminder right now to take the little wins, and remember that the stuckness will not last forever.

In this week’s video, I’m exploring this mindset shift of examining if we’re truly stuck, or actually at a threshold moment.

Maybe we’re at a point where the lack of forward momentum isn’t something to fight against. Where something is shifting under the surface, and like the plants, we’re building a stronger root network.

Or maybe we are about ready to cross that threshold, but we need to slow down and pay attention to that act of crossing before we dash forwards to make a start on the new.

So this August I’m trying not to ask “How do I get unstuck?”, but rather sitting with this question:

Who am I becoming, so that I'm ready to cross the threshold?

Until next week,
Sarah

The Orientation

If you're in the thick of a life transition and could do with seeing the shape of the path beneath your feet, my free workshop - Finding Your Footing Through a Life Transition - is a good place to start. You can find out more and access it here.

The Witnessing

If you need something more personal — write to me. Hit reply and tell me a little about where you are: what's ended, what you're carrying, what's pulling at you. I'll write back, and if it feels right I'll suggest a plant ally or two that belong with where you are right now. I read every reply and I'm always glad to hear from you. Or if you'd rather talk book a tea & chat and we can explore it together over Zoom.

Wild Rose Path

For the ones who can see the life they want but can't yet find the path to it. For the woman who suspects the way back to herself might be through something older and slower and closer to the earth than anything she's tried so far. Each week I write about life transitions, plant wisdom, and seasonal rhythm... real letters, not polished advice. When you join, you'll get The Stile - a short guide and audio introducing three plant allies for the crossing you're in right now.
