Wild Rose Path

She's been calling me for months...

Hey Reader,

How are you? Time seems to be getting ever faster and the weeks fly by. So here I am again with another letter to you.

I write this after having just come back from the top of everyone's Not Favourite Howgill Fell - Crook. She's not as famous as Winder, but sits right next to her. In this pic, Crook is the 2nd of the 4, with most of Winder just out of shot.

I love how at this distance, they look pretty straightforward to climb. Ha!

Anyway, this morning's pilgrimage was almost not going to happen - bad night's sleep with ill child, period coming due, getting run down myself... I had all the excuses lined up there!

But that fell has been calling me for months and months. And when I feel lost or stuck or just like 'I can't do this anymore', I go into the hills with a herbal offering and ask for wisdom.

Crook has a wilder quality to it - already on a Wednesday morning Winder fills up with walkers, and the well-trodden paths show it's popularity. Maybe it's because I wander around more at the bottom of Crook as thats where I live, but she seems to embody more of the qualities of the Earth Mother/Goddess/Whatever you personally call her - wilder, straightforward in some aspects, chaotic in others, but requires respect.

And she reminded me this morning of the oracle card I drew for this Moon cycle - Resilient.

But to me, the devotion is worth it. I come back down each time a little more in love with these fells. A little less worried about my place in things. And with a heart a little more open, ready to receive the wisdom of what's next.

Of course, there aren't too many plants right up the fell (the gorse smells amazing today), but on the way down I stopped at some violets. A plant I don't currently have in my garden which I've wanted for a while. A plant of opening the heart, and supporting through transitions...

A gift. After asking and respectfully taking one and carrying it home like a newborn - I'm hoping with a little care I can get it to grow.

The land, the plants - are deeply generous, if we approach respectfully. The original reciprocal relationship, which hopefully, as a collective, we will start to remember.

Before I share what's been happening on the channel this week - I have a question for you.

I'm genuinely curious what's landing for you, and what you want more of. Not what I think you need... what's actually calling to you right now.

Wild Rose Path

For the ones who can see the life they want but can't yet find the path to it. For the woman who suspects the way back to herself might be through something older and slower and closer to the earth than anything she's tried so far. If you feel more like yourself near plants, or something in the natural world keeps catching your attention - that's not accidental. That's what we explore here through seasonal rhythm, plant wisdom, and the kind of knowing that lives in the body rather than the head.
