Welcome back to the Wild Rose Path and to this latest Journal issue - It's been a while since I started the Voice Reclaimed Series, but here we are finally with the next installment - all about the Sacral chakra, and how it relates to reclaiming your voice and speaking from your own truth. If you're like me, you keep an eye on the astrological goings on, and HELPFUL YouTube videos (Lee Harris' Energy Report...I used to do Energy Reports with occasional cameos from then-toddlers... maybe I should start doing them again...?) - so you may be aware that everyone's saying that energetically, this is frankly a gnarly time. Lets ignore the videos where everyone is doom-prophesizing though. I'm also keeping an eye on the Venus cycle, and it seems we are hurtling towards the deepest part of the decent before she disappears behind the Sun near the end of the year. This is a time for rampant self-care, and not the kind that involves buying something. It seems like our hardest shadows are having our light illuminate them. And as I struggle myself with the old wound of visibility (this is manifesting SO much right now people are literally walking into me...) I want to let you know that whatever you're struggling with yourself - I really feel along with you in that. Let us navigate this madness together!! And onto the blog... This issue, we’re exploring the Sacral Chakra — the seat of creativity, pleasure, and emotional flow. How we engage with this energy can shape our sense of voice, our ability to express ourselves, and how we navigate emotions in daily life. Sacral Chakra: Reclaiming Emotional Flow & Creative Power (Voice Reclaimed Series)It’s time to honour the part of you that feels, desires, and creates. Your sacral chakra is waiting to help you reclaim emotional flow, pleasure, and the voice you’ve been holding back for far too long. For women who often put everyone else first, this energy is an invitation to return to yourself — to feel, to move, and to speak from the depth of your own experience. After grounding in the root chakra, the next step in reclaiming your voice is the sacral chakra — the energetic centre of emotion, pleasure, and creativity. For those of us with a womb, it is deeply tied to the creative power held in that space, both literal and metaphorical. For me, the sacral speaks through sensation: a dull, insistent ache in the womb-centre when I feel the urge to create. Whether I write, make art, garden, or shape my work with Wild Rose Path, that energy only dissipates through active creation. This chakra is intimately linked to pleasure and self-prioritisation. Many women, myself included, have learned to disconnect from these impulses — to put others first, deny desire, or disconnect from our sensuality. When we bypass these truths, our voice can rise out of fear, conditioning, or unprocessed emotion. Healing the sacral allows us to reclaim emotional sovereignty and, with it, a voice that is fully our own. What the Sacral Chakra GovernsThe sacral chakra governs:
It matures between ages 7–14, a critical period for emotional and sexual development. During this time, many women develop patterns of people-pleasing, boundary confusion, and emotional suppression. For me, this period left me reactive and disconnected, and alcohol became a way to numb feelings I couldn’t sit with. My voice emerged differently depending on whether I was under the influence — loud and unrestrained with it, hesitant and muted without it. Signs of a Blocked Sacral ChakraCommon signs include:
For me, I’ve noticed that when my sacral energy is blocked, my intentions don’t fully manifest. Subtle fears — of exposure, over-commitment, or conflict — can undermine action, keeping me from fully stepping into my creative and expressive potential. Reclaiming Emotional FlowReclaiming your sacral begins with allowing yourself to feel. Not forcing, pushing, or rationalising, but sitting with emotion as it arises. Practices I use include:
These practices allow your feelings to flow safely, cultivating clarity and depth in your voice. Reclaiming Creative PowerCreativity is alchemy: transforming life’s raw material — grief, longing, joy — into new form. For me, it shows up as:
Reclaiming creativity also supports verbal expression. My YouTube videos, for example, became a channel for sacral flow — where feeling and expression could merge. When creativity moves freely, so does your voice. Trusting Flow and VoiceTwo affirmations guide me:
When we trust flow rather than force it, creativity and truth rise naturally. Your voice emerges aligned with your emotional and creative self, no longer filtered through fear or suppression. Practices and Allies to Support Sacral EnergyTools that help me reclaim sacral flow include:
Even small acts of self-prioritisation — allowing pleasure, moving the body, creating without expectation — help clear the energy and support authentic expression. An InvitationIf you’re beginning your journey to reclaim your voice, The Voice Reclaimed workshop offers a gentle introduction to listening to and expressing your truth. From there, you may be called to explore deeper healing of the first three chakras — a path I unfold slowly through this blog series. Next, we will explore the solar plexus chakra, the seat of personal power and confidence, and how it shapes the voice you bring into the world. Mini Practice
Take your time exploring these reflections and practices, and notice what resonates with you. If something sparks curiosity or insight, hit reply and share — I’d love to hear how it lands. Whether through writing, movement, or simple awareness, reclaiming your Sacral energy is about small, meaningful steps toward expressing your voice and emotional flow. Finally, if you know someone who might enjoy these reflections or benefit from reconnecting with their creative and emotional energy, please feel free to forward this email or share the Wild Rose Journal with them. Your sharing helps this work reach the people who need it most. With love from the path, Sarah |
