Wild Rose Path – Grief Ritual & Energy Healing

Moving Through Change + Founding Round of Rose & Ashes

Hi Reader,

How are you this ass-shifting Eclipse season?! It's all change here, new jobs, new routines...but with the newness is not-quite-the-end of the oldness. There's a little bit of 'hanger-on' left!

Of course, the beginnings and ends of cycles are rarely clean-cut. But right now really feels like a time of change - collectively in the bigger picture, and on a personal level - right down to the roots.

Often the re-rooting can hit us the hardest - a real shock to the core. Although we know on the 'intellectual level' that there's so much potential for growth within that change, when we are in the thick of the transition, the felt experience it can be easy for fear and doubts to creep in. That's why it's so important that we have that network of support - and that we can in some way, feel held, supported, and validated.

In this issue, I’m sharing how energy awareness and simple practices can help you move through transitions with more ease. Or at least, not feel so lost at sea!

Moving Through Change: Using Energy Healing for Emotional Support

Life transitions—whether they’re exciting or unexpected—can feel overwhelming. How do we find balance when everything feels in flux?

Energy healing can be a really supportive tool for these challenging times. And it’s important to have tools in place, because one way or another, we’re all going to go through at least a couple of major transitions in our lives.

The challenge with life transitions is often the element of the unknown. We’re wired to follow the beaten (and perceivably safer) path; and stepping into unknown territory brings up fear, resistance, uncertainty…and physically/mentally, stress.

These aren’t necessarily things we should avoid though – they can actually serve a good use in terms of building our own resilience, or ability to deal with whatever it is that Life has in store next. But when our own energy systems are already out of balance (in this day and age, building a resilient nature is harder when pretty much everything is engineered now to make life more comfortable), it can make it much more difficult to deal with the unexpected, the unknown, and to let go of what we need to let go of. It can also make it more challenging to then build solid foundations for the next stage of our journey.

In a nutshell, this can impact our mental and emotional wellbeing. So rather than fear, delay, or try to avoid life transitions, we need to have tools that give us the balance, resilience and confidence to meet them head on and move through them with grace.

Healing tools to use during life transitions

Reiki: Whether you practise Reiki yourself or receive it from someone else, it can help to calm the nervous system – this allows us to move out of fight/flight/freeze and into the parasympathetic nervous system taking the lead instead. This can help us to feel calmer and more balanced emotionally, which then leads to better decision making and resilience to difficult situations going forwards.

Crystal Healing: This can be used in an ‘active’ method (such as a crystal layout or meditation/visualisation with a crystal), or ‘passive’ method (wearing specific crystals as jewellery or keeping them by the bed for example). To me, the most important factor in deciding what crystals to use is intuition, but here are a few examples to get you started:

  • Peridot – for growth, renewal and encouraging in abundance.
  • Amethyst – all-rounder for promoting calm and clear thinking.
  • Moonstone – for new beginnings and with a feminine, nurturing energy.

Plants: Consider the different ways these can be used to soothe the nervous system and the method of taking them – Lavender and Chamomile make a wonderful pairing whether in a tea infusion, diffused in a room or applied as an oil blend during massage. Lemon Balm as a tea often pairs well with a Mint for settling nervous energy whilst supporting you into the next phase of life. A good plant for strength and courage and healing on a physical level too is Yarrow. It makes for a strong, bitter infusion but that’s where it teaches us about resilience…I personally found Yarrow to be a powerful plant to work with after a miscarriage.

Transitions may be challenging, but they also offer opportunities for growth. By working with energy healing tools, you can navigate change with grace and self-compassion.
