Everyone looks the same now

Hey Reader,
You've probably noticed the slew of AI-generated images, AI-written captions, all starting to look and sound the same, especially on Facebook! And before I start, I'm not knocking it - I use AI myself and it deffo has its uses in helping sharpen and refine ideas.
But something's happening where everyone's putting in all this effort to stand out, and it's somehow making us all look identical.
Which means there's less and less to actually differentiate one person from another (this is the point where I start mulling over simulation theory and go down a very long rabbithole...) But essentially - what makes you, you. What makes your work different from the next person doing something similar. And to me that matters more than ever because people are craving connection and trust, especially when everything online feels increasingly commodified.
I don't think the answer is more content, sharper graphics, or a better way of presenting yourself. I think it might be something subtler - going right back to basics and getting clear on what's actually true for you, not the version of yourself that you think you're supposed to show (I've been there, collecting qualifications like a permission slip), but what you've actually lived. Nobody else has your particular experience, your particular way of seeing it.
The clearer you get on that - on what you've actually lived, not what you're meant to present to the world, the more findable you become. Not because of the algorithm. Because the right people start to recognise something true when they see it.
Visibility on the fell this morning...
Which plant ally is walking with you right now?
If you're in the in-between and not quite sure what you need, there's a quick way to find out. I've put together a short quiz that helps you discover which plant ally is calling to you at this point in your transition:
If you're in the thick of a life transition and could do with seeing the shape of the path beneath your feet, my free workshop - Finding Your Footing Through a Life Transition - is a good place to start. You can find out more and access it here.
The Witnessing
If you need something more personal — write to me. Hit reply and tell me a little about where you are: what's ended, what you're carrying, what's pulling at you. I'll write back, and if it feels right I'll suggest a plant ally or two that belong with where you are right now. I read every reply and I'm always glad to hear from you. Or if you'd rather talk book a tea & chat and we can explore it together over Zoom.
